Re-development of the former office of the Patent Council into 58 generous apartments for Wilma Wonen and Reshape Properties.
Willem Witsenplein, Den Haag
The former Hague office building for the Patent Council has been transformed by Reshape Properties and Wilma Wonen into 58 urban apartments in a variety of sizes but all with a characterful urban living quality and beautiful outdoor space. Opus Vastgoed provided the project management and guidance of the construction.
On the one hand, the transformational design sought to preserve the original architectural details and the restoration to the original level of refinement in the detailing, while on the other hand adding new building sections in contemporary harmony with the existing building. For example the new residential ambiance is at its most visible on the Weissenbruchstraat. Here the existing centre wing of the building has been removed and a partially lowered access area with parking places has been created.
